Recipes to be tried

Hey I am back with my fourth post. It feels good to write.

I love cooking. So its obvious that I love eating too.

I refer to food blogs a lot and even my daily cooking is based on those recipes which I referred to. I love trying out new recipes and Anand is very much appreciative of me for that good reason. I must appreciate him in return for tasting whatever I give him to eat, irrespective of its taste and giving me a proper feedback.

I wish to try out as many recipes as possible but I sometimes feel that my laziness prevents me from doing so. So I have made a decision/ resolution - cook atleast two new dishes a week. Got it.

So these are the dishes I wanna try out this week -

  • Peanut Chikki
  • Thattai
These are in my long time to-do list but I never really made it. So I hope I make these two dishes before this Saturday. So it gonna be happy eating for us three!!!

Anand

Actually I wanted to write so much about Anand but I am so overwhelmed with emotions that I am lost for words.I can say only this - He's the best and I love him so much.

AARAV'S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION:)

Hi I am back again with another post on exactly what happened on Aarav's birthday. Anand and me decided to celebrate his birthday in a simple manner. The day before his bday we purchased few balloons (pink and white) for decorating the house. With the number of balloons I purchased I wouldnt call it much of a decoration but I just love balloons (My sister and dad knows exactly how much. lol). The chocolate cake which I made was ready to be cut the next day.

Mr. Aarav woke up exactly at 12.00 AM on 22 Dec 12. We wished and sang 'happy birthday' to the little guy.He was up until 2AM:( He woke up again around 8am, had a bath, refused to eat his kanji, wore his brand new cream colored cotton jeans with blue shirt, and was ready to cut his Birthday cake.

He cut the cake exactly @ 8.46 am, the time of his birth. He refused to eat the cake as the color of the cake resembled his kanji's color. Poor guy missed a great taste. Our folks then called to wish him and we disributed cake to neighbours and relatives.

His birthday surprise part was well handled by my cousins Swathi, Aarthi and Prem. Those guys really made our day. Right from the time they entered the house the rooms were filled with laughter. These guys are real fun to be with and even Aarav loved their company. They bought a cute little, hmm, actually a little bigger sized dress for him. I bet he loved it as he was carrying the package with him today to wherever he went. lol.
We gorged on some pizzas in the evening and it was evident that Aarav loved Pizzas too. Swathi, the photographer was busy clicking pictures of Aarav. Thanks darling for all the pictures.

Post Aarav's dinner we left for dinner @ cream center. It was yummy, yummier, yummiest. We had a great time there though we didnt click any picture as a group.
As they waved 'tata' to Aarav, he gave a 'sad-that-you-are-leaving' kinda expression and by the time we reached home, he was fast asleep. Thankfully, it was THE END of his birthday as we didnt want him or us to stay awake past midnight.

I wanted to click many pictures of him in his birthday outfit but I couldnt cos he was sleepy and restless and wouldnt allow me to take a pic. Hence day was well spent.

It was a day to remember :)

HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY AARAV!!!

Our precious little Aarav turned one!!!!! I just cant believe it. Time does fly fast.

Exactly 365 days before, I delivered this cute little bundle of joy at 8.46 am, weighing 3 kgs and 48 cm tall. He was soooo tiny, soft, had more hair than i expected and perfectly fit into my  hands. Today he is almost 80 cm tall, weighs around 9-10 kg, has 6 cute tooth and has just started walking few steps on his own.
Being a playful, mischevous, curious guy, he showers us with smiles right from the time he wakes up and immediately springs into action by either sitting on top of the dressing table or pulling the clothes out of the laundry bag.
These are his current hot favourite things to do - climbing steps, playing with watercans, banging kadai with a black color ladle, beat appa and amma with the same ladle, sitting on top of dressing table, combing his hair, pulling amma's hair, tearing papers, throwing things out of window, playing peek-a-boo, plucking the keys out of appa's laptop, etc.
His all time favorite is splashing water and  whenever and wherever possible and enjoys his bathtime to the best.
He loves roaming around with his appa and is ALWAYS ready to go out with appa. He loves him so much and loves the 'appa time' before and after Anand's office. Its a pleasure to watch the two play together:)
At one he is able to utter few words properly, the most proper one being TATA. He will say thatha, akka, amma, appa and few alien words but the least preferred words are amma and appa:(
He listens carefully to whatever we tell him and tries to imitate us in the best possible ways, thus warning us to mind our manners. He sings with us when we sing any song and shows good interest in music. He might become a musician in the future. Oh! There's one more thing to add. He spends most of the time in kitchen surrounding himself with utensils and loves to watch me cook. So there is a possibility of him becoming a chef too. Who knows!! I know this is tooo early for me to predict but its ok:)
He's a great little man as he always prefers to be in my company and he doesnt want to be separated from me even for an hour.  Though I get frustrated at times due to the mess he creates or the fuss he makes, I feel like he understands me someway or the other. He makes himself suited to my preference and adjusts me better.  This little guy deserves a praise for that big reason.
We are so grateful to have him in our life. Its a pleasure being around him watching his cuteness in action. He's growing fast and its very much evident on his first birthday. He has made our life much more joyful and lovely. We are proud parents now:)
We love you Aarav. Happy first birthday darling!! U r the best:)
